Hello valued reader! I welcome you to my blog/review of How to outrun a crocodile with your shoes untied. In this blog, I will run you down about the plot, i will review the book, and give you my over all rating.

         Let the reviews begin!

Now first, the summary. This book is about a teenager named Ana Wright, who lives in a zoo!
However she doesn't really enjoy living in a zoo so there's that (i will explain this later). The book starts off with Ana wrestling a crocodile, while thinking about here 12 and a half birthday and about her best friend Livia (aka Liv), that had recently moved to New Zealand. Also, they celebrate their tradition is to celebrate their birthdays together, as well as blowing out a candle on a cupcake, and making the same wish, which apparently had came true each year. Unfortunately she has to do this via webcam (skype i pressume) due to the fact that she moved to New Zealand (by the way their wish was to have liv move back, but ill get back to that later). After a bit of story progression, (i will list the most important parts and skip the "extra" bits) we learn about the Sneerers (who consists of Ashley, Brooke and Rayna) who essentially pick on everyone, especially Ana. They make up a large part of the story. We also learn about the crush that Ana has on a boy named Zack. After all of this, a  Image result for plot twistoccurs where in Liv doesn't show up for the cupcake wish, and as suspected, Ana is infuriated. Afterwards, Ana's grandfather comes to visit, who we discover is to be dating a woman named "Sugar" as well as appearing in an interview on live television. Later, Ana's grandfather invites the family to his interview as well as moving into a zoo (as I mentioned earlier), both of which Ana isn't happy about. She receives a message from Liv that says she ditched her because she though the wish was ludicrous. Later in the book (and i mean a lot later) her parents visit the school to do a presentation that furthermore embarrassing Ana. Next, the interview with Ana's family occurs. The interview goes mostly well, except for Ana's part, which she practically failed. Also, her art teacher had recently rejected her project about "her true grade 7 self". After those shenanigans, she is very embarrassed and is quite unhappy, and now she has to do a public speaking presentation at the zoo, which the Sneerers are bothering Ana with. She goes through a large period of mental preparation for her public speaking presentation. Finally after a lot of pep talks and encouraging, she does her public speaking presentation which she aces, and during it, she gets the Sneeres back for everything by publicly embarrassing one of them. Finally she ends with handing in her art project, and going to a dance. Basically this book revolves around the school life of Ana Wright, and the troubles along the way.

Next up, the review
Before i read the book, I was skeptical and i was hearing some not so good reviews. The plot was interesting, although it can get a bit boring. It introduces a lot of characters, that can get a bit much, but most of them don't matter much. Also, a lot of this book was predictable, as in it was very easy to guess how the events would go and what where to happen next. Also, at no point did i say to myself " I HAVE to read the next part of this book!", so theirs that.  The overall book was well put together. There wasn't many moments when things got confusing, and the transitions (between events) were nicely done. Also, every now and then there are little tidbits of real information, as well as animal profiles for the characters, which i thought fitted the book theme perfectly, in fact it is probably my favourite aspect.

Finally, my overall opinion
Overall, i enjoyed this book, but it isn't a book i would read at my leisure. Everything was fine, and there wasn't anything "extraordinary" about this book, it wasn't a bad read. I would recommend this to a person who particularly enjoys animals and zoos, but otherwise i wouldn't really recommend its a lot. Despite all of the poor reviews, i think this book was perfectly fine. Again it wasn't bad, but it isn't extraordinary either. Overall, i would give this book 3.5 out of 5, or essentially an okay book.
